Each mezuzah case is hand painted and one of a kind. The case is made of wood and can hold a mezuzah scroll up to 3.5 inches long. The scroll is not included with this mezuzah case, but you can obtain a kosher scroll from your local Judaica shop.
WHAT IS A MEZUZAH?
The mezuzah scroll is a parchment scroll upon with the handwritten words of the Shema. The mezuzah case holds the rolled up scroll. It is affixed to the doorpost of a Jewish home. It is a daily reminder of the occupants connection to Judaism and G-d. Mezuzah cases should be affixed to the right side of the door as one enters a room. It should be hung at eye level at a slight slant with the lower part closer to you.
